Genre : Epic ,Books ,Sci-Fi & Fantasy ,Fantasy ,Science Fiction & Literature ,Adventure ,Fiction & Literature ,Action & Adventure THE BOOK BEHIND THE SECOND SEASON OF GAME OF THRONES, AN ORIGINAL SERIES NOW ON HBO.

A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE: BOOK TWO

In this thrilling sequel to A Game of Thrones, George R. R. Martin has created a work of unsurpassed vision, power, and imagination. A Clash of Kings transports us to a world of revelry and revenge, wizardry and warfare unlike any we have ever experienced.

A comet the color of blood and flame cuts across the sky. And from the ancient citadel of Dragonstone to the forbidding shores of Winterfell, chaos reigns. Six factions struggle for control of a divided land and the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, preparing to stake their claims through tempest, turmoil, and war. It is a tale in which brother plots against brother and the dead rise to walk in the night. Here a princess masquerades as an orphan boy; a knight of the mind prepares a poison for a treacherous sorceress; and wild men descend from the Mountains of the Moon to ravage the countryside. Against a backdrop of incest and fratricide, alchemy and murder, victory may go to the men and women possessed of the coldest steel . . . and the coldest hearts. For when kings clash, the whole land trembles.

Even Better Than I Expected

I love the tv show and love to read, but I had put off reading these books because I thought they might be difficult to understand. For me, they flow easily, and I enjoy every word. I do think watching the show first helped because I know many of the characters and lands in my mind already. Tyrion is one of my favorites on the show, but somehow I love him even more in the books. Also, somehow, I don’t hate Cersei as much So Far, but my hate for her is steadily growing. I feel more sympathy for Catelyn because the books really let the reader in her head. I didn’t realize how young many of the main characters were during these times either. Daenerys and Jon are barely teens and have both been living in separate wilds. They’ve witnessed dark magic. Arya is barely middle grade age and has killed men. Joffrey, Sansa, Bran, Robb, etc, they’re all children making decisions difficult for adults. Obviously I loved this book and can’t wait to start the next one.

Good, but. . .

First off, of course Ser Martin is an amazing writer. Elegant prose, rich characters, deep worldbuilding and some of the most captivating scenes I have ever read. BUT, I feel I am the only person in the world that rolls my eyes at the wanton depravity and needless sexuality. I get that he is painting a true picture of our base human condition, and I would not claim to be some kind of saint or preach at anyone. However I read fantasy for escapism and sometimes . . . no oftentimes I find this depressing. And I am also no stranger to an epic story with a large cast but I sometimes have trouble keeping my facts straight with who is from where, and who is who's son, who has what sigil and where they are. Still enjoyed it though and am going to read the next. :)

Augustus99

Excellent!

This book is a thrill ride from beginning to end. To get the most out of it you need to read the first book before this one however. From a "Game of Thrones" I was hooked. The moment I finished "Game of Thrones" I started reading this book with hardly a pause in between. If you like a story about warring faction, ancient houses and magics, if you like high fantasy but want them to paint a believable world for you to travel through then I say don't miss this series of books. The only thing that keeps me from rating the book five stars is some awkward feeling sex scenes an after the end of the first book the pace of the beginning of this one seemed a bit slow but boy does it pickup. Enjoy this. Don't miss it.

Just as good as the first.

Clash of Kings starts off where Game of Thrones ends, and ends in the same manner as the first in the series. I have yet to start the next in the series but I'm assuming it will be of the same quality. This book was an excellent read, just as absorbing as the first, full of the same surprises, and leaves you wondering what will happen next. Strongly recommended for anyone that believes story telling is a craft. Mr. Martin is a master.

Don't read this book but if you do read it I hope you enjoy the story as much as I do.

Good, but. .

Ladata A Clash Of Kings By George R.R. Martin Pdf Ebook

Great book and well written. I love the way Martin takes us from story line to story line without the feeling of boredom or dismay. Anxiety levels are high as book 3 begins.

Even better than Game of Thrones!

So much better than TV series. What an amazing writer if so much detail. This series was made for reading on a tablet with the ability to search for info on the web about characters and setting.

Great Book, Terrible Formatting

Why are there spaces between each paragraph on some eBooks? I know when a paragraph ends and a new one begins without having unnecessary and distracting spaces between every single paragraph! Especially frustrating during dialogue.

An enthralling book and necessary to read rather than just watching the screenplay! The intricate internal reality of the vision world comes across in full force where it is sadly missing in the HBO production.

Savor this series

Rare to find a captivating series. This is one. The characters are alive. What a great story. Well woven with set ups for book three however satisfying story arcs. Top five series I have ever read. Onto book three.

A clash of kings

I enjoyed the book very much! The only criticism if any to this book was that partitions of it read like the bible when describing the people and their relations. Made my head spin at times >: ) Other than that loved this book!!

Great read

Very entertaining.

Great read

Excellent sequel to a great series.

Imagination

Excellence

Not since Lord of the Rings has such a fantasy world been created. If you consider the Two Towers as being similar in the respect that they are war movies compared to the first books that are new and exciting characters with all of the plot concepts being created. I do find it interesting how Martin killed the main character in Game of Thrones?

Great

A great book.

This book was awesome

This book was so good I couldn't stop reading half the time. And I like how the hbo show follows it pretty accurately, except for a few odds and ends. Great book for anyone that enjoys fantasy epics.

Can't wait to get started on a storm of swords!!!

Love it!

Season 2 and a fantastic read.

If you find yourself a "thronie" take this book and discover all that is left out in the HBO series. This read gives the insight that lacks when trying to create a screenplay. The thoughts and feelings of the characters are a delight to experience. My word of warning, this is difficult to put down.

Instantly Hooked

5 pages in and I was hooked. It actually pained me to have to put the book down. Absolutely a must read for all fantasy lovers. Have to start A Storm of Swords right now!

Just great

This book is just great every page is a new surprise and you feel just like if the time arounnd you had stoped and you were inside the book, you can start reading it in the morning and stlill be reading by night without realising how much time has passed. The book is similar to lord of the rings( just in the type of book) but it isnt as 'slow' as lord of the rings ,everything happens in a rithym,a perfect symphony.

Great continuation of the first

Takes off right where The Game of Thrones ended

Great storyline!

I saw the series on HBO and instantly decided that I would start reading the books as well. In my opinion, the books are more complete in storyline and describe the characters with great depth; however, the HBO series doesn't disappoint either!

paulrivera92

Excellent read!

One of the best books I've read!

Epic!

A fantastic sequel to A Game of Thrones. I could not put it down. Breathtaking, exciting...almost better than the first book. Another masterpiece!

Mrs. Allen1808

Game of thrones. Amazing fantasy story of love & passion. I love the deep mathoughticle thinking!

Great dynamic stories to transport you to another reality.

A Clash of Kings

The series continues in book two and it grows in excitement with every chapter! Just when you think you have the story figured out Mr. Martin throws you for a wild ride! Love it!! Can't wait to start the next one!

Loved this book and seeing how the first book's story line followed through.

Awesome

This was hard to put down, despite it's long length. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Bobbi_1025

Couldn't put it down...

I bought the first 4 at the same time and have read the first 2 within a week. I love the fact that GRRM is not afraid to give the sword to main characters

Aaron&Sandra

A clash of kings

He'll of s story, second orvthird time though in 10 years.

Sparklingsundrop

Can't wait for book 5!

Read it a decade ago in paperback but when the show came out I decided I needed a reread and I must say it was just as good as I remembered. Saw other readers complaining about people dying and to that I say "valar morghulis". All men must die. Don't like it? Don't read this book but if you do read it I hope you enjoy the story as much as I do.

Good, but. .

Codawg81

Book you can't put down.

I hope the HBO series does the book justice..
